US wildfire perimeters (NIFC/WFIGS interagency feed) over the USGS topographic basemap, with US thermal-anomaly detections from NASA FIRMS (VIIRS 375 m + MODIS 1 km, past 24 hours). Perimeters are split by containment: red = active (0-99% contained), amber = containment not reported, grey = 100% contained. Toggle each in the Layers panel. Perimeter polygons are generalised to about 111 m for page weight - use the WFIGS source for operational work. Detections are thermal anomalies, not confirmed wildfires: gas flares, industrial heat and agricultural burning register identically. Click any perimeter for its incident name, acreage, containment, cause and discovery date; click any detection for its sensor, confidence and radiative power.
